I’m looking for a decent switch for my rally light setup. I have a couple ideas, but they all look like cheap plastic. I’d really love a high end toggle or rocker switch... maybe even aluminum. Anyone got any ideas? Seems like it would be easy, but no. Less than $100.00 please.
What type of switch? Rocker? Toggle?
I like this rocker, customized to say “Rally Lights” but it’s a plastic POS.
Toggle Switches are kinda neat, but maybe a little old school.

Toggles for rally lights are always cool.

yeah, but it is shockingly hard to find nice switches.

Do you think you could get OEM Ford aux switches from a Raptor or Super Duty to work?

They look like they might actually fit in the useless cubby.

I’ve been looking at Ford upfit parts. It is an option. But I really only need 1 switch

Install NOS, there is use 2
Install a rear anti-high beam light bar, use 3
Install oil slick, use 4
Problem solved, you’re welcome.

I mean, if you could somehow toggle different light levels.

So I don’t collect many things, I hate clutter. Weird as it may be, one thing I do collect are switches. I yank em out of old cars, appliances , lamps, you name it. If I can’t find the right switch for a project, odds are that I’ll ditch the whole project or at least put it on hold, haha. For this I’d go with a momentary switch/locking relay. Illuminated if that’s your thing, I think I’d make it a hidden switch.

Try this google search for switches.

Does your car have an y button blanks where you could install a direct-fit OE switch?

I don't think so

Nope

Bummer. The only solution then is to add three more sets of light bars.

Finding a spot for the BD switch is going to be the easiest.

You have two pairs do you want one switch for all 4 or an inside/outside 2 switch?

All one one

I’d personally go for something like this. But I would prefer something a little subtle that doesn’t necessarily scream gaudy aftermarket.

If you have room then these are nearly bullet proof

You’ll also need the mounting plate.

That makes it easy. Here are a few rockers that would work. The red one is the Baja Designs standard one. It’s about as big as a quarter.
Take a quarter out and see if you can find a nice flat spot on the dash that you can get behind and off. I like the shifter console or the left of the wheel myself. It needs to be within reach.
I also just added a foot dimmer switch on my Pros- faster and easier to dim them at night than fumbling for the switch.

The BD switch isn’t bad. I honestly have no idea where to put it. The Fiesta interior is kinda nuts.
I'm sure I'll find a place though.

My dreadful little secret is that the VW doesn’t have a switch for the spotlights. This based on the simple fact that if I want high beam then I want all the light. So the spots are activated by high beam via a pair of relays. The Forester does have a switch (on the earth because running one wire is simple and the switch didn't require illumination ) and it’s positioned on the door side of the steering wheel...

!!! UNKNOWN CONTENT TYPE !!!
AutoZone had a surprising amount of fun switches beyond the flimsy plastic things. The big metal switch in my car for the lights (mounted in a light switch, because duh) came from there.
I was tempted by the little skull with the red
light-up eyes, but didn’t want to overcomplicate things. This one’s drilled like a 917 key!
